“I told them the truth,” are you talking to find a solution or just feeding your ego. Let’s talk about the damage of feelings and causes in relationships.

Speaking your mind is very important, especially when living on this planet as a human being. It helps people understand each other and strengthen their relationships. Speaking your mind can only be recommended.

However, out of ego, a person can speak without considering the state of mind or intentions of the other person. Our emotions can get in the way when we try to express our ideas. And the same words do not sound the same to all ears. It depends on our background (education, environment, etc.).

Don’t let our feelings hurt others.

These kinds of situations and the way we respond to them can lead us into error. We offend people and ultimately destroy our relationships and sometimes regret what we did. All in the name of freedom of expression of feelings or, for some, in the name of truth.

The best solution is to make conscious decisions when expressing our feelings. It takes into account a large number of parameters. These parameters are expressed in different ways. Let me give you an overview of some questions to ask yourself beforehand:
- Why do I feel bad?
- What is the underlying problem?
- Is there an intent to harm?
- Is it a misuse of words?

It is the answer to this question that will direct the discussion about your feelings.

The next time you want to express your feelings, make sure you check in with yourself first. Only then can you start talking. If you don’t. You can cause unfortunate damage.

Have you ever been in a situation where every word that came out of your mouth made the situation worse? Or, without any intent to harm, you caused a lot of damage.

Please share your experience in the comments. I’d love to hear from you
