How a duck taught me focus
I never thought in my life that’s I’ll learn one of the most important quality of high achievers would be taught to me by a duck. This is a story about focus.
One morning, as usual, I woke up in front of my machine, striving to make my company the largest and most successful company of all time. My father called me and asked me to shoot a duck.
I cut its throat and turn it over to let the blood flow and at the same time I heat the water to pluck it. I have the impression that everything is done, but it is the beginning of a task that requires dexterity and delicacy.
Once the intestines have been removed, the chicken gallbladder must be located and checked for punctures. If it is punctured when the duck is slaughtered, the taste of the meat is irreversibly altered. This will be a pity!
It is an illusion to believe that everything is set when you have passed a stage. You still have some details to make sure are tight, before moving on. In everything we do we have the obligation to stay sharp and focus. And that is the great challenge.
The strength of a leader, CEO, or other lie in his resilience and his ability to remain dynamic in his thinking while keeping in mind the objective to be achieved.
